Ala night bazaar at Le Meridien
Diners will be spoilt for choice at Latest Recipe in Le Meridien during Ramadan as the restaurant has a bountiful buffet spread until Aug 17.
With over 100 dishes from Malay, Japanese, Western, Chinese and Indian live cooking counters - which resemble a night bazaar - guests will be delighted to tuck into the delectable food.
Among the dishes available are stir-fried beef with ginger and spring onion; chicken rendang with young tapioca leaves; lamb stew Penang- style with local spices and drumstick bean; and stewed half mussel with Chinese black pepper sauce from the hot buffet spread.
From Indian spread, for non vegetarians, are chicken pancharattan, macchli kukkuri, maans coy kadhi and murgh briyani rice; while vegetarians will enjoy the baigan kalongi, aloo dhall, subzi jalfrezi and kadai paneer.
Also available from the live Indian counter are marinated chicken, lamb chops, and prawns with yoghurt and Indian spices, well known as tandoori dishes.
While there are fresh salmon, butterfish, octopus, maguro sashimi and sushi together with a selection of teppanyaki at the Japanese counter, the Chinese counter has fragrant Hainanese chicken rice, chicken char siew pau and assorted dim sum such as har kow, black pepper siew mai, carrot siew mai and crystal dumpling.
Desserts to wrap up the buka puasa range from Malay kuih, apple strudel, cherry creme brulee to blueberry cheese cake.
Those who love Western food can opt for dried and homemade pasta with sauces such as carbonara, lamb shank ragout, seafood pizzaiola, aglio e olio and beef bolognese.
The hotel's celebrity chef Zubir Mohd Zain will also feature 10 local favourites which is a reflection of his mother's delicious cooking and childhood memories.
Indulge in sup jernih udang galah, rendang ayam pencen pucuk ubi, ikan kerapu rangup sos berlada bunga kantan, satay kepal udang and ikan ala thai.
Also available are makanan laut sos kacang hitam, rusuk lembu panggang ala Monggolia, solok sotong bakar lemak kuning, and pengat durian with pankek gulung.
Zubir, an executive sous chef who is one of the judges of the TV reality show MasterChef Malaysia, said: "We offer simple dishes made with top quality ingredients.
"When creating a menu, I think about how the ingredients will complement each other to ensure a balanced dish," he said.
The buffet is priced at RM128++ per person from Mon to Fri; RM118++ per person on Sat and Sun; and RM88++ per person for bookings after 9pm from Mon to Thurs.
It includes free-flow kurma juice, teh tarik, sirap bandung, sugar cane juice and soya bean milk.
